Young Ghanaian farmers want to stay on the farm, but lack skills to raise small animals and other products to increase income. Help us build and furnish a training center to provide 6 months training for each farmer in the proper care of poultry, rabbits, goats, mushrooms, snails, beekeeping to increase income for their family. Land donated by local Ghanaian chiefs will be developed to build the training center on, which will welcome farmers- from all over the Kumasi region- to learn more labor and environmentally efficient farming techniques and animal husbandry.
The center will provide hands-on classes by trained staff. The purpose of this training center is ultimately to educate rural populations and grow small businesses that focus on agriculture. There is significant need in Ghana and Africa for increased production from farmers to prevent widespread famine and poverty. The training centers will directly combat these threats and have already proved successful in Nicaragua. In 5 years 2,500 farmers will learn how to successfully raise animals and products to generate more income.
What can you do to help? Below are all of the materials needed to complete the training center. These materials range from a table, to mushrooms. Some materials are going to be used to furnish the training center and get it up and running to teach classes, and others will be used for providing participants with the animals that they need to begin farming. Every donation helps. All you have to do is click the 'Add to Cart' button, which will add the item to your PayPal cart (add as many items as you want) then checkout. All of the money will go directly to the item that you indicated, and will ultimately help young people become the future generation of farmers.
