Young Nicaraguan farmers want to stay on the farm, but lack skills to raise small animals and other products to increase income. Help us build and furnish a training center where farmers can be instructed in ways to improve farming practices; where women can be instructed in micro-credit enterprises; and where community members can be taught the benefits of chlorinated water, and how to build and manage water chlorinator systems.
The training center will be housed in a warehouse on two acres of land. Hands-on classes will be conducted by trained staff. Seminars will be arranged periodically to discuss, compare and learn new ways to improve crop production, poultry and animal production, and marketing and business practices.
What can you do to help? Below are all of the materials needed to complete the training center. These materials range from a shovel to four piglets. Some materials are going to be used to furnish the training center and get it up and running to teach classes, and others will be used for providing participants with the animals that they need to begin farming. Every donation helps. All you have to do is click the 'Add to Cart' button, which will add the item to your PayPal cart (add as many items as you want) then checkout. All of the money will go directly to the item that you indicated, and will ultimately help young people become the future generation of farmers.
