Vivian, a remarkable woman
Proud. Grateful. Happy. Smart. All words that came to mind when we met with Vivian and the rest of her group a couple weeks ago outside Kumasi, Ghana. We were so happy to hear about Vivian's progress and all that she has done. We are happy that we can share it with you too!
Vivian's shop splits the road through her village of Bedaabor and leaves much to be desired. Old, falling apart, water damage, and graffitied worse than some subway stations. She smiled as we walk towards it, then right past it and towards the new shop she was able to buy with her loan. Vivian unlocks her stall and as she opens the doors, we are greeted by snacks, sugar and other colorfully-packaged necessities.
