#GivingTuesday: the results are in!

WOW! YOU’RE AMAZING!

Over the past year, we’ve shared stories with you of how access to training + the resources to put that training into action has helped young people like Kimberling learn to raise chickens that contribute to family food security, and mothers build fuel-efficient ovens and stoves that increase income and improve family health, and prisoners learn how to start up new businesses to help them thrive upon release.

This access to training and resources is truly transforming lives and livelihoods, one family at a time.  You shared in our celebrations at the progress we were making – and you wanted to see us do more!

You wanted to extend this training to help more families achieve self-sufficiency in 2018.  So when you heard that the Board of Directors was offering to match any gifts made toward that effort on Giving Tuesday, you gave generously!

So for Giving Tuesday this year, we set a target of engaging 125 families to raise $60,000 to train 200 entrepreneurs and “agri-preneurs” in business and farming skills to alleviate hunger and better provide for their families.

You rallied your friends and family, and 123 families joined together to donate more than $45,000!  Together with the matching funds, that means we’ll be able to enough to train more than 250 families!

Thank you so much to every one of you who made this campaign such a success!

With gratitude,
Jacqueline Steinkamp, Director of Development

PS: If you missed out on the campaign and want to help, you can still make a difference by making a donation to train one more family here.
